When
your eyes are uncomfortable……
Do
these phenomena happen to you or your body?
Eyesight
is getting worse and the things far away can’t be seen clearly.
When
using computer for a long while, your eyes start to feel fatigued and tired.
Recently,
many children’s vision start to worsen and this has become a prominent topic of
concern.
However,
apart from the severe symptoms, most people perceive that there is nothing much
to do with their worsen eyesight and continue to live their lives from day to
day. Some even think that their myopia is genetic.
Moreover,
when it comes to the treatments, especially the eye surgery, people even try to
move away from them because of surgical fear. However, if you ignore eye
discomfort, the worsening symptoms will intensify, thereby affecting your life.
When
myopia or presbyopia are aggravated, everything in your sight will not be clear and is sometimes blurry. For
example, you can’t see the distant objects and/or near objects, words in the
books and magazines are indistinct. In this way, it will cause a bad impact at
the work or in your living. Nonetheless, excessive use of computers causes
dryness in eyes, deteriorating vision and sometimes, the eyes will also feel
severe pain.
Additionally,
eye discomfort usually lead to shoulder stiffness or headache, dizziness,
making you uncomfortable. In fact, in accordance to a Chinese doctor when
interviewed, he said, “Because of eye irritation, many patients came to me for
treatment and I diagnosed shoulder stiffness and other symptoms of physical
discomfort with them.
Eye
discomfort, in fact, is a relatively serious problem. Also, it can be very
troublesome when it comes to solutions.
Some
may question:
“To
ameliorate this problem, is there any easy and quick ways?”
“Stop
wearing contact lens and glasses, will my eyesight recover?”
For
these questions, some might have already undergone some eye treatments. Assume
that all these ways are not working, should we consider and think of the
fundamental problems that make our eyesight worse? Below are two main factors
of cause.
Developmental factor
Newborn infants, the eye diameter is only
about 2/3 of adults’ which is hyperopia. But with age, ocular axial lengths
start to gradually lengthen. To about 15 years old, their eyes are basically
the same as adults’ which are 24 mm long in diameter. If overgrown, ocular
axial lengths become too long, forming myopia. This is called, “simple myopia”
which happens more in the beginning of school age. Its degree of myopia are generally
lower than 6 diopters (600 degrees) and at 20-year-old, its development ceases.
If being in childhood, it progressed very quickly, at the age of 15 to 20, it
will progress more quickly and eventually in the future, it will be slowing
down. Such myopia is often higher than 6 diopters, up to 20 or 30 diopter (2000
to 3000 degrees). This myopia is called severe myopia, also known as
pathological myopia. Such myopia will be accentuated when reaching old age and
vision will also gradually diminish that glasses will never be helpful in
seeing things anymore. Finally, eyes will become blind. Myopia is rarely born.
Very few people are born with myopia and congenital myopia seldom has degenerative
diseases.
External causes
1.
Those working in front of the computer or electronic devices will get myopia
more often.
2. Environmental pollution, especially air
pollution has a considerable impact on the poor eye sight. Because corneal permeability,
it is constantly exchanging gas with the gas outside world while 80% of the metabolism
of oxygen comes from the air. When the air is polluted, hazardous and harmful
substances are also bound to the pathway into the cornea during the gas
exchange. After a long stretch of time, doubtless, it will affect the eyesight
and this is especially so for the infants and adolescence. They may not pay attention
to exercise and nutrition, and stick to a comprehensive and reasonable diet, leading
them to be myopic. In addition, imperatively, not taking care of eye health, looking
at close things after a prolonged period of time, the formation of myopia will
occur very soon. Also, it is very terrible when pseudomyopia does not attract
attention of people. When people continue using myopic eyes to look excessively,
myopia retinas receive long-term external reflection and oculomotor commands extraocular
muscles to sustain muscular diastole, mechanically pressuring scleral tissue in
the extraocular muscles in long-term. The ball walls taper elongate expansion
and decrease their flexibility. Annular ciliary muscle fibers remain tense and
their resilience will reduce, preventing themselves from relaxation.
